Used Quad Bikes – Sales, Returns & Liability Policy

Last updated: 27/08/2026

This policy applies to all used off-road motocross bikes and quad bikes sold by Quad Bikes Ltd.

These vehicles are sold strictly for off-road, competition, and leisure use only.

1. Nature of Used Quad & Race Bikes

All used motocross bikes and quads sold by Quad Bikes Ltd are:

  • Used vehicles
  • Race / competition machines
  • Subject to wear, stress, and mechanical fatigue
  • Maintained to a standard appropriate for off-road use only

Due to their nature:

  • They do not carry a manufacturer's warranty
  • They are not sold with any dealer warranty
  • They are not intended for road use
  • They may require ongoing maintenance, adjustment, and repair

By purchasing, the customer acknowledges and accepts this.

2. Condition & Inspection

  • All used vehicles are sold as seen, as inspected, and as test-ridden (where applicable)
  • Customers are strongly encouraged to inspect the vehicle in person before purchase
  • Where a test ride is offered, acceptance of the vehicle following the test ride confirms satisfaction with its condition

Normal wear and tear, race wear, cosmetic marks, and mechanical noise consistent with age and use do not constitute a fault.

3. No Warranty

Quad Bikes Ltd provides:

  • ❌ No warranty
  • ❌ No guarantee of future performance
  • ❌ No cover for mechanical failure after sale

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Engines
  • Gearboxes
  • Clutches
  • Suspension
  • Electrical components
  • Bearings, seals, gaskets, chains, sprockets, or consumables

4. Statutory Rights – Important Legal Notice

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015

For used race bikes, "satisfactory quality" does not mean fault-free.

The burden of proof may rest with the customer depending on circumstances and usage.

5. Exclusions from Returns & Refunds

We will not accept returns or refunds for:

  • General mechanical wear
  • Engine or component failure due to riding, racing, or misuse
  • Damage caused after handover
  • Over-revving, racing incidents, crashes, or improper maintenance
  • Consumable failure
  • Customer dissatisfaction unrelated to a proven pre-existing fault

Once the vehicle has left our premises, all responsibility for maintenance and use transfers to the customer.

6. Online or Distance Vehicle Sales

Where a used quad bike or motocross bike is purchased remotely:

  • Any return must be:
    • Unused since delivery
    • In the same condition as supplied
  • The customer is responsible for return transport costs
  • Any use, damage, or wear after delivery voids the right to cancel

There may be changed pricing given at certain times of the year or discounted bikes.

7. Race Use & Assumption of Risk

By purchasing a used motocross bike or quad, the customer confirms they understand that:

  • Off-road motorsport is inherently dangerous
  • Mechanical failure is a known risk
  • Quad Bikes Ltd accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage arising from use of the vehicle

8. Final Sale Acknowledgement

By completing the purchase, the customer confirms they:

  • Have read and understood this policy
  • Accept the vehicle's condition and intended use
  • Acknowledge there is no warranty
  • Accept responsibility for all maintenance and operation after sale

Failure to maintain the vehicle correctly invalidates any potential claim.

9. Refund Timeframe

Refunds can take up to 10 working days, depending on payment method and bank timeframes.
